SquatKey

Terms of Use

Effective date: July 15, 2026

1. Agreement

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Nil Basora (Spain), the developer of SquatKey ("the App"). By downloading or using the App you agree to these Terms. These Terms incorporate Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA); where these Terms conflict with Apple's EULA, Apple's EULA prevails.

2. What SquatKey Does

SquatKey lets you block selected apps and websites on your device using Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework, and earn screen-time minutes by performing squats detected through your device's motion sensors. The App is a self-control tool that you configure yourself; you decide what to block and at what rate squats earn minutes.

3. Subscription, Trial and Billing

4. Health and Safety Disclaimer

SquatKey involves physical exercise. By using the App you confirm you are in adequate physical condition to perform squats and that you do so at your own risk. The App is not a medical device and provides no medical advice. If you have any medical condition — including heart, joint, back or balance issues, or pregnancy — consult a doctor before using the App. Stop exercising immediately if you feel pain, dizziness or discomfort.

Always perform squats in a safe environment, clear of obstacles, and hold your device securely or keep it in a pocket while exercising.

5. Acceptable Use

6. Screen Time Permissions

The App's blocking features require you to grant Screen Time (Family Controls) permission on your device. Blocking is enforced by the operating system based on your own configuration. You can revoke this permission or remove your blocking rules at any time in the App or in iOS Settings. The App is a self-management tool, and we do not guarantee that blocking cannot be circumvented (for example, by uninstalling the App).

7. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, branding, mascot, and content, is owned by Nil Basora and protected by intellectual property laws. You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App; no ownership rights are transferred to you.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of squat detection, or uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that the App will meet your goals, reduce your screen time, or improve your fitness.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Nil Basora shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for personal injury arising from physical exercise performed while using the App, missed communications or opportunities resulting from blocked apps, or loss of data. In any case, total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including your statutory rights as an EU consumer.

10. Changes and Termination

We may update the App and these Terms from time to time; material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We may suspend or discontinue the App with reasonable notice. You can stop using the App at any time; deleting the App removes its local data, and any active subscription is managed through your App Store account.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence. Disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts under applicable law.
